Soft glans syndrome is characterized by a state of sexual arousal in which the corpora cavernosa of the penis attains a complete erection, while the corpus spongiosum and the glans penis remain soft and cool. This inconsistency negatively impacts both the visual appearance of the erect penis and the capacity for penetration during sexual intercourse. At present, there is a notable absence of epidemiological research investigating the prevalence of this condition. Additionally, many healthcare providers fail to ask whether the glans penis becomes engorged and firm during sexual arousal when evaluating patients with sexual dysfunction. It is important to note that the most commonly utilized psychometrically validated assessments of male sexual arousal do not incorporate inquiries about glans engorgement or firmness.
